Previous seasons
Game 1
Ayers Lewis lost two of their best players over the off season and struggled against
an ATF team which had also lost their best player. Dave Kozick and Andy Cron stepped in for
ATF replacing Ian Jones, Dann Fuller and Mike Donovan. ATF jumped out to an early lead and
never faltered. Ayers, Lewis' offense never quite got on track. In the third quarter
Dave suffered what appeared to be a game ending injury to his ankle, but to everyone's surprise
he returned to the game in the forth quarter to supply much needed ball handling skills. Tim
had another reliably impressive scoring night. Allen added a career high 17. Stu recorded
a blocked shot.
Game 2
ATF and Creative solutions played a game that was close from start to finish.
It was not until overtime that either team took as much as a 7 point lead, and even
that was quickly erased. A fantastic game came down to a very anti-climactic
timekeeper error, when with 5 seconds left in double overtime the timekeeper
started the clock when the ball was inbounded instead of when it was first touched.
Both teams were disappointed by the call.
The press was very effective for ATF when employed. However, ATF will need to work
on attacking and exploiting zone defenses.
Game 3
ATF lasped on defense and were baffled early on by Pfizer's packed-in zone defense. This caused
ATF to fall to a 22 point disadvantage in the first quarter. Timely 3 point shooting by Dave,
Tim, and Ian got ATF back in the game, and the defense started playing better, but the offense
never really got on track.
ATF has some puzzles to solve to get their offense on track.
Game 4
ATF did not have to contend with a zone defense this game. This helped spark the offense when ATF
fell behind by 10 in the second quarter. The game was close during the entire second half and
required overtime to settle. ATF was able to hold Black & Veatch to just 2 points in overtime
to win by 4 points.
Game 5
ATF jumped all over Ayers Lewis, building up a huge lead and never looking back. This game was never
close.
Game 6
Even though the final difference was 9 points, this was another very close game between
two evenly matched teams. Due to problems with the timekeepers/clock, the second quarter was extra
long, possibly a good 2 or 3 minutes over the normal 8 minutes. Despite this extra time scoring in the
first half was somewhat low. The game was tied at 22 at the half. In the second half ATF slowly carved
out a small lead. Creative solutions cut the lead to 3 on several occasions, but could never again tie
the score. This win was impressive in that it was the best ATF's offense has played against a zone
defense.
Game 7
Poor officiating, playing the first half without Tim, and being generally undersized compared to Pfizer all
contributed to a game that was never very close. ATF made a run in the 4th quarter thanks to improved play
and finally getting some calls from the refs to make the final score more respectable.
Game 8
These two teams are so evenly matched that both games this season went to overtime. Plagued by foul trouble
Black and Veatch played the overtime with just 5 players available, and a contraversial double technical
with about a minute left forced them to go the rest of the way with just 3 players.
Game 9
This game was tied at 23 at halftime, but ATF's offense went cold in the second half and Pfizer went on to
collect an already clinched league championship.
Game 10
Unlike past confrontations, this one did not go to overtime. Black and Veatch got tired early and ATF built
a sizable lead. B & V made a run in the fourth quarter, but ATF was able to withstand it.
