This is the first LEGO piece I modelled. It is made of 9 shapes - the base box and 8 little pegs. There's no tiny LEGO on the top of the pegs (too much work). The bottom of the brick is also not authentic, since it's flat. This is another concession to simplicity.

I hate to admit it, but thanks to a counting error this particular brick isn't quite as tall as it should be. It's a 1/16 of an inch too short, so it's proportioned incorrectly. I went back and changed this on the model, but didn't re-rendered it.

This is the first unusually shaped piece I modelled. It is made of 11 shapes - The outer wall (with window), the perimeter, the shelf, and 8 pegs.

This scene was constructed from a green baseplate, 4 wall pieces, and 8 2x1 grey bricks. Truth be told the grey bricks on the interior of the bottom of the wall have no pegs, since they wouldn't be drawn anyhow. The green baseplate is made up of 1024 pegs! Boy does it slow down my poor Mac when I work with that object. Luckily, rendering time isn't effected by the extra thousand-plus 3D shapes. The whole picture was rendered while I made a quick phone call.

Next stop - a full castle!

Well, maybe the full castle isn't the next stop. Here's the first floor of my castle.
